부록: 짧은 소설 (50개 표현 활용)

The deadline was looming, and the team was feeling overwhelmed. "Okay team," Sarah announced, "Let's pick this up where we left off yesterday. We have a lot to go over."

Mark sighed, "We really need to come up with a better marketing strategy fast."

"I agree," Sarah replied. "John, can you put together a presentation summarizing our current issues for tomorrow?"

"Sure," John said, "I'll keep you posted on my progress. I might have to work late today though."

"Does tomorrow morning work for you to review it, Sarah?" Mark asked.

"Hmm, actually, can we move up the meeting to this afternoon? I have another commitment tomorrow," Sarah suggested.

"Okay, let's try for 4 PM. Give me a ballpark figure on how long you think the review will take, John?" Mark requested.

"Maybe an hour? I find it challenging to estimate precisely, but it seems doable," John responded.

Later that day, Sarah called Mark. "Is this a good time?"

"Actually, I'm in the middle of something," Mark said apologetically. "Can it wait?"

"No problem, let's catch up sometime later then. Maybe we can get together for a drink after work?"

"Sounds good! Oh, by the way, did you pick up on the client's hesitation during the last call?" Mark asked.

"I did," Sarah confirmed. "We need to figure out what their main concern is."

Just then, John called Sarah. "Sorry to call so late, but I finished the draft. I just got a call from corporate asking for an update ASAP."

"Wow, you're the best, John! I mean it. Thanks for working late. I didn't mean to push you," Sarah said gratefully. "How did the presentation prep go?"

"It was tough, but I managed. I got it done," John said, sounding tired.

"You should get some rest," Sarah advised. "Get home safely."

The next day, Mark was late. "Sorry everyone, I got stuck in traffic. I didn't mean to be late."

Sarah smiled, "No worries. If you need anything at all, like coffee, feel free to grab some. John, go over the key points."

John presented, and the team discussed. "I'm sorry you had to go through that analysis alone last night," Sarah said to John afterwards. "But the presentation looks great."

"Thanks! I enjoyed your company and feedback during the review," John replied, smiling. "I hope you get better soon, Mark – heard you caught a cold."

"Thanks, John. I appreciate it. Let me know at your earliest convenience if the client is in touch," Mark said, heading out.

"Will do. It was nice talking to you all," Sarah concluded the meeting. They still had challenges, but working together, they felt they could handle them.
